APEX Competition and Paul Meijer together through 2028 to build the future

APEX Competition and Paul Meijer will continue their journey together throughout the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Following a maiden season that culminated in victory in the 2026 Italian GT Sprint Championship, the Italian team led by Max Lanza has selected the Dutch professional driver to play a key role in its sporting development, signing him to an exclusive agreement for the next two seasons.

In 2026, Meijer claimed the Italian title alongside Luca Maria Attianese with two races to spare, concluding an extraordinary campaign in which the pair secured five victories and one second-place finish in the opening six races. This success is not the final destination, but the foundation upon which the future will be built. The new agreement stems from a shared vision and a desire to continue a partnership that, from its very first year, has demonstrated a strong sporting, professional and personal connection.

During the 2027–2028 period, Meijer will be one of the leading figures in APEX Competition’s racing programmes, continuing to compete at the highest level while contributing his experience and expertise to the team’s technical and sporting development.

His role will therefore extend beyond his work behind the wheel. The experience he has gained in international GT racing and particularly within the Porsche world, will become part of APEX’s technical and sporting know-how. He will also contribute to the development of drivers involved in the team’s various programmes: professionals, emerging talents and gentleman drivers, each with their own path and objectives.

This decision reflects the direction undertaken by APEX Competition: building an increasingly solid and competitive organisation, capable of taking on new national and international challenges by investing in people, expertise and a shared motorsport culture.

Of course, my main goal will be to race and win across the different championships, but I am equally excited to contribute to the development of the project and its drivers. Over the past few years, I have gained a great deal of experience in GT racing and within the Porsche world, and I am looking forward to sharing that knowledge and helping APEX grow. For me, this is not a separate role from my work as a driver. It is all part of the same journey: racing, striving to win, contributing to the team’s development and sharing the experience I have gained on the track.”

The agreement with Paul Meijer represents one of the first steps in APEX Competition’s strategy for the coming seasons. After claiming its first Italian title in its debut year, the Rome-based team intends to turn the results achieved in 2026 into the foundations of a broader and more ambitious project.
