Exciting yearend news on the future of Spyker – good news for all Spyker enthusiasts and existing customers. Today, on the last day of 2021, the investor group led by Michail Pessis (Milan Morady S.A., R-Company GmbH, SMP Racing) and Boris Rotenberg (BR Engineering, SMP Racing) has reached an agreement with Spyker Ltd to revive the historic Spyker super sports car brand effective 2022.

There can be no doubt that Spyker has had a few very tough years but with the new investors on board and the to be newly founded Spyker group, those days are over and Spyker will return as an important player in the super sports car market. At a meeting in Utrecht on December 20, 2021 as a follow up of the meetings held in August 2020, the joint direction of action was agreed between all parties.

Michail Pessis , co-owner of SMP Racing Monaco as well as owner of Milan Morady SA in Luxembourg and R-Company GmbH in Germany, entrepreneur Boris Rotenberg, owner of SMP Racing and BR Engineering, among others, announce the intended production of three Spyker models; the Spyker C8 Preliator, the Spyker D8 Peking-to-Paris SSUV and the Spyker B6 Venator, starting from 2022.

A new Spyker production company, to be incorporated in collaboration with Mr. Victor R. Muller, Chief Executive Officer of Spyker Ltd who will head the new management, will produce the handmade sports cars again. As soon as a written agreement has been reached and the use of the trademark rights has been formally secured, activities can finally restart.

Since 2012, the investor group’s cooperation with Spyker has only intensified and now culminates in the plans for 2022 and onward as announced today. In addition, the investor group already has developed and produced a number of riveted Spykers in so-called BR configuration in their own facilities. In the future there will be an international cooperation for Spyker carbon bodies (in house production in Russia), engineering (Germany, Russia) and the new manufacturing facility in the Netherlands with the (former) Spyker team. Final assembly will definitely take place in the Netherlands to pay hommage to the heritage of the brand and to optimally utilise the still existing manpower of Spyker’s professional work force. Spyker’s financial, accounting and controlling department will be operated from Luxemburg.

Much to the joy of the owners of the 265 road going Spykers built to date, the after sales and service departments will be an integral part of the new Dutch production facilities. New service centers will be opened on the French Cote d’Azur and at a location close to the Belgian, French and Luxemburg borders.

It goes without saying that with SMP Racing as a member of the group, with vast experience and an international network in the racing business, Spyker has the opportunity to re-enter the racing arena and aims to take a strong foot hold in the motor sport world.

Both entrepreneurs stated that they are fully motivated and determined to help create a successful Spyker business: ”We really look forward to become a part of this new chapter of the epic Spyker brand. Our group of companies will launch the Spyker brand successfully in the league of the world’s best super sports cars”, Boris Rotenberg stated.

Victor R. Muller, Spyker’s Chief Executive Officer said: ”The collaboration agreement which we confirmed today is the starting point to rebuild Spyker as a sports car manufacturer with a more solid foundation than ever before, and with ample access to better technical and financial resources than we ever had to achieve our ambitious business objectives. In a world dominated by electrification there is an undiminished demand for real sports cars, the ones that tantalise all senses. We will continue to cater for that group of enthusiasts in particular . Of course we will offer hybrid solutions in our future models but the V8 ICE remains at the heart of every Spyker for many years to come”.
